Everyone has a chapter of their life they'd rather forget.

Here's mine.

I started drinking when I was 14 or 15. At first it was just weekends, parties, doing what everyone else was doing. Then somewhere along the way it stopped being something I did and started becoming who I was.

Looking back, I always knew I had a drinking problem.

I just wasn't ready to admit it.

By the time I hit my early 30s, I was buying alcohol every day and drinking until I passed out. Wake up. Go to work. Drink. Repeat.

It became my normal.

Then one morning I looked in the mirror.

I hated the guy staring back at me.

I remember thinking to myself, "What the hell are you doing?"

Not because of one bad night.

Because I realized this was my life if I didn't do something about it.

That was the day I decided I was done.

Getting sober was the first step, but honestly, quitting alcohol wasn't enough.

Alcohol was just one piece of it.

I had to change the way I thought.

The people I was around.

My habits.

How I spent my time.

How I took care of myself.

Everything.

People think transformation is about fixing one thing.

It isn't.

You don't get a new life by making one better decision. You get a new life by becoming a different person.

One of the biggest lessons I've learned is that you can't keep one foot in your old life and one foot in your new one.

You either commit or you don't.

Now here's something almost nobody knows...

The name IAC actually came years before the brand.

One night my manager was leaving a party around two in the morning. We all had to be at work a few hours later, and before he left he looked at us and laughed.

"You guys are some Intense Alcohol Consumers."

At the time, it was funny.

Years later, after getting sober and rebuilding my life, those same three letters came back to me.

Only this time they stood for something completely different.

Intelligence And Confidence.

I kept the initials because they remind me where I came from.

I changed the meaning because that's exactly what I did with my life.

That's why I started IAC.

Not because the world needed another clothing brand.

Because I wanted to build something that represented what's possible when you stop making excuses, stop running from yourself, and decide to become someone you're proud of.

These days, I'm proud of the guy I see in the mirror.

Alcohol isn't my story anymore.

It's just one chapter.

IAC is everything that came after.
